Did You Know?

As you’re raking up all the fallen leaves in your yard, remember there is much more you can do with them besides simply hauling them off to your nearest yard-waste drop off site. Leaves are great (and needed) for compost, can be used to insulate plants through the winter, and are great for your soil and lawn. By simply mulching up the leaves with your lawnmower and leaving them on your lawn, you feed the soil and keep your grass healthy through the winter. You can also save your leaves in bags and use them as mulch for your garden. They help to suppress weeds, and improve the soil as they decompose. If you are hauling them away, be sure to use reusable yard waste bags! You can find them on Amazon or most home improvement or garden stores.
