In a letter John Adams had written to his wife Abigail in the days prior to the 4th, he had said, “This day will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. While there will not be a fireworks display in Stillwater this year, there is still opportunity for us to celebrate our nation’s independence. Here is a rundown of events on July 4.
3 pm – 10 pm Civil War Cannons from Battery I, 1st US Artillery
5:30 pm – 7 pm Junk FM Band (variety of genre-bending mashups)
8 pm – 9:30 pm Bootleg (a rock and roll band)
7 pm – 9 pm St. Croix Jazz Orchestra
